Intel is planning to bring Celeron Duos series next year
It has been a long time, two and a half years since; we have seen Intel’s dual core processors in the marketplace.
According to sources, Intel will introduce its new dual core processors next year making the single cores to be a very low price purchase giving tougher competition to AMD. One of the processor in the series will be E1200 with a 1.6GHz clock speed, 800 MHz front-side bus, 512 KB of cache and a price of $53, which will be $1 than Celeron D 356 of 3.33 GHz clock speed. These dual-core processors will be called E1000 series CPUs and expected to hit the market in the first quarter of next year.
Intel has also announced that it will be also introducing two core 2 Duo E4000 series processors, which will be based upon 45nm process technology. Out of the two processors, one has a model name and specifications confirmed, but for the other processor only specification is confirmed. Model number and specifications for both the processors are:
- First processor: E4700, 2.6 GHz clock speed, 800 MHz FSB, 2 MB Cache and the price will be $133.
- Second processor: 3 MB of L2 cache, 1066MHz FSB.
In today’s date, company is offering multi-core processors in the listings from the high range to $64. Celeron’s single core processors are still in the market place and take place under $100 arena.
